‘April 10^th 2018………a date I should never forget. My daughter’s birthday, but also the date when I was formally told that I had aggressive prostate cancer. It hits hard, not only for the patient but also for the loved ones around them. As a former teacher I hope that I can bring some of my education skills to the charity, helping to promote CSS and spreading the word especially regarding prostate cancer, which is very much close to my heart. Having experienced the trauma of a cancer diagnosis, I feel it is vitally important to support the work which this wonderful charity does in and around the county. It is an unbelievable honour to be asked to work as an ambassador for a local cancer charity and I look forward to supporting its many fund-raising events and to be a willing listener and speaker when the need arises…’
